"Blues for Charlie Parker" TONY SCOTT & BUCKY PIZZARELLI

Lino Patruno presenta TONY SCOTT (clarinet), BUCKY PIZZARELLI (guitar)"Blues for Charlie Parker" San Marino 1996http://www.linopatruno.ithttp://www.cambiamusica.ithttp://www.michaelsupnick.comTony Scott (born Anthony Sciacca June 17, 1921 - March 28, 2007) was a jazz clarinetist.Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Scott attended Juilliard School from 1940 to 1942. In the 1950s he worked with Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday. He also had a young Bill Evans as a side-man. In the late 1950s he won on four occasions the Down Beat critics poll for clarinetist in 1955,1957,[2] 1958 and 1959. He was known for a more "cool" style than Buddy DeFranco.Despite this he remained relatively little-known as the clarinet had been in eclipse in jazz since the emergence of bebop. In 1959 he left New York City, where he had been based, and abandoned the United States for a time. In the 1960s he toured South, East, and Southeast Asia. This led to his playing in a Hindu temple, spending time in Japan, and releasing Music for Zen Meditation in 1964 for Verve Records. In 1960 a Down Beat poll for Japan saw readers there name him best clarinetist while the United States preferred Buddy DeFranco. More recently he did a Japanese special on Buddhism and Jazz, although he continued to work with American jazz musicians and played at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1965.In 1967 he put out his first album in eight years entitled Tony Scott: Homage To Lord Krishna. In the years following that he worked in Germany, Africa, and at times in South America. He settled in Italy in the 1980s, working with Italian jazz musicians such as Franco D'Andrea and Romano Mussolini. In later years he began showing an interest in Electronica and in 2002 his Hare Krishna was remixed by King Britt as a contribution to Verve Remixed. He died in Rome, Italy at the age of 85.http://en.wikipedia.org

WANDA JACKSON-BLUES IN MY HEART

THIS BIO SEGMENT IS TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA: Rise to fameJackson was still in high school when country singer Hank Thompson heard her sing on an Oklahoma City radio show and asked her to record with his band. She dated Elvis Presley, who encouraged her to step away from the country-tinged gospel she had been performing since childhood and try her hand at rock and roll. She developed her own distinctive voice and performed in a variety of styles, from folksy traditional tunes to country twang and high yodels to throaty, suggestive ballads. She was a prolific singer of songs with wry lyrics such as "Fujiyama Mama," a 1957 cover of a song originated by jump blues singer Annisteen Allen in 1955[1][2] which in the original contained references to the World War II bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It even became a #1 hit in Japan. Her biggest hit was "Let's Have a Party" released in 1960.[3][edit] Queen of RockabillyJackson achieved great and continuing success throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia, but has never found the same level of fame in her native United States. She toured with rock and roll pioneers such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Buddy Holly. She has been nominated for two Grammys, and has been awarded the Oklahoma Native Daughter Award. She has been inducted into the Oklahoma Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the International Hall of Fame, the International Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, and the German Country Music Hall of Fame, but remains conspicuously absent from the Rock and Roll and Country Music Halls of Fame.[edit] Country careerWanda's first records on Decca Records were country records made with Hank Thompson's band, one of which "You Can't Have My Love", a duet with Hank's bandleader, Billy Gray, made the Top 10 on the country charts in 1954. In 1956, she made her solo debut on Capitol Records with "I Gotta Know" which made a one week appearance on the country charts that year. It would be 5 years before she next appeared on the country charts.Starting in 1961, Jackson's career started to go increasingly towards country music than rock and roll. This began with the Top 10 hit "Right Or Wrong" which also became her biggest pop hit reaching the top 30. Her next single in 1962, "In The Middle Of A Heartache" was also a Top 10 hit and also a top 30 pop hit. Throughout the mid 1960s into the early 1970s, Jackson was never out of the country charts with such songs as "Tears Will Be The Chaser For Your Wine" (1966), "Both Sides Of The Line" (1967), "A Girl Don't Have To Drink To Have Fun" (1968), "A Woman Lives For Love" (1970), and many others. She had not completely abandoned her rock and roll roots either with all of her country albums having at least one rock and roll number. She was also the first female country artist to do a live album. In 1966, she had a number 1 in Germany with the foreign language hit "Santo Domingo" sung entirely in German.A born-again Christian, Jackson and her husband/manager Wendell Goodman abandoned secular music in 1971, and spent the next 25 years performing gospel in churches. Wanda has also recorded several gospel albums as well with acclaim.[edit] Wanda Jackson todayIn 1995, Jackson was invited by alt-country singer Rosie Flores to duet with her on an upcoming album. The two were so pleased with the results that Jackson joined Flores on a handful of promotional club dates which were soon extended into a five-week North American tour. Jackson, pleasantly surprised to discover that she and her songs were known by a generation of rockabilly fans her grandchildren's age, soon assembled her own band and returned to clubs and festivals, where she continues to perform. The same year, (and the year before) Jackson recorded in Europe with Danish group The Alligators.Jackson ranked #35 on CMT's 40 Greatest Women in Country Music in 2002.In recent years Jackson has recorded with such artists as The Cramps, Lee Rocker, Dave Alvin, and Elvis Costello, all of which are special guests on her album Heart Trouble, released in 2003 on CMH Records[4]. 2006 saw the release of a new Jackson album, I Remember Elvis. Jackson also made a guest appearance on her longtime friend Norma Jean's 2005 album singing a duet with Norma and soloing on a biographical song written by singer and performer Debbie Horton from the show Branson On The Road, titled "Pretty Miss Norma Jean".On 16 August 2007, Jackson undertook a gig in Europe as a guest star of Dutch rock and roll stars, René Shuman and Angel-Eye. This was during the 30th Memorial Concert dedicated to Elvis Presley. More than 7,500 people saw the show, entitled "Elvis and More.."On 28 October, 2008, Jackson returns to Europe for a one-off appearance at the London Rock 'n' Roll Festival, appearing with Jerry Lee Lewis and Linda Gail Lewis at the London Forum.[

Barack Obama: The Biggest Lie Ever Perpetrated On The American People!

Ok, I am addressing my haters and trolls, these hateful and mean-spirited little people out there that hide behind their internet keyboards and are directed to target me from all over the internet at kook sites like DailyKos and individual blogs and far left groups here on Youtube and god knows where else. You guys are cowards. Almost all of you resort to lame personal attacks and those that don't employ gang-debating strategies. pathetic cut and paste of talking points and trolling techniques with the intention of overwhelming me or making me lose my cool, but none of you have the balls to show your face on camera here on Youtube and confront me like a real person. You know, None of this crap phases me, I delete your comments without saying anything just to piss you off. I see cry foul and fascist and I laugh at you. I can still look into the camera and say to my audience with a straight face that your candidate is a man with a short political resume, a man who has spent much of his youth in a different country under a different name, an outsider that once said he had been to 57 states and mistakenly claimed that 1 bomb fell on Pearl Harbor, an important place in American history just a 10 minute drive from what he calls his hometown. A fraud who's biggest accomplishments in life before runnning for president was a 2004 keynote speech at the Democratic Convention and his role as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, a job which has been revealed to be nothing more than a greivance monger in the Spirit of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton but only on a much smaller scale. A man who has spent more time building and refining his false image and establishing his myth than he has at actually doing something. A Man who has spent more time Campaigning for President than he has doing his job as a Senator. A Senator who can't make decisions, someone that has voted 'present' more often than anything. A man who keeps company and is friends with Racist Demogogues, Domestic Terrorists and Corrupt Business Partners. An elitist that believes he has has the answers for what he calls bitter Rubes that cling to guns and religion. A man who is married to a bitter woman who has the personality and charm of Amarosa. He has no major achievements he can list. He has no documentation he will share. There is no one of substance who will stand up and give him a character reference. But he's written two egotistical autobiographies. He has spent more time perfecting his myth than he has building a resume.A Marxist Messiah that was cooked up by the far-left and promoted as Hope and Change by a complicit media to an American Public in a weakened state of mind during a hard war all while hijacking a major political party.Obama is the biggest lie ever perpetrated on the American Electorate. I know the American people will recognize this fraud, this outsider come November and they will say, no thanks. Now that the war is coming to a successful conclusion. A conclusion that Obama voted against, by the way, I trust in the resolve of the American People to resist this Socialist, to resist the Massive Social Engineering he promises, to resist dependency on government, to resist big government and the control it will place on us. To preserve what makes us great, our free-market economy and our spirit of individualism, our independence. It's John McCain in a landslide, you idiots. Your coup has failed.Nothing that he, his campaign, or you, his far left flock can do about it and nothing that you do will stop me. My message will continue to get out. Bring it on you losers.

Uncertainty: The Critical Role of Insurance In Free Market
Hans-Hermann Hoppe explains the role of insurance in a free market economy. Any insurance involves the pooling of individual risks by the market, a task the state can only distort. This article is an excellent primer on what insurance really is and why e.g. a "Universal Health Care" would be a tragedy. Great clarifier for those still with reason...

Torso Needs an Organ Donor
Torso, a film chronicling the late efforts of Elliot Ness as the Safety Inspector of Cleveland, may find itself going unnecessarily off-location. Unnecessarily in that everything they need to film is in Cleveland itself - necessary though considering the city/state's poor tax incentives for filmmakers.
