Anderson Cooper 360, Nov. 17, 2008Many people don't know that the Big 3 (GM, Ford, Chrysler) are contractually obligated to pay almost full salaries to laid-off workers! Thanks to UAW, this has been going on for over 20 years. And now that the Big 3 must compete with non-unionized foreign automakers (who also happen to make BETTER cars), UAW is one of the biggest reasons why the industry is on the verge of bankruptcy.
