Former federal Liberal cabinet minister Marc Lalonde, who was later hired by Karlheinz Schreiber as a lawyer and lobbyist, testified under oath before the Ethics Committee on February 12, 2008 that he had never been hired by Schreiber or GCI to work on the Airbus file.What he didnt tell the Committee: Lalonde was hired by Airbus in September of 1987 and in November of that year met with Air Canada President and CEO Pierre Jeanniot in order to try to sway him to purchase Airbus. He also didnt tell the Committee that later the same day he reported that conversation back to GCI.

While we passengers spend tons of money on noise reduction headphones, and drive cabin crews silly with our umpteen requests for earplugs, weary Emirates Airbus A380 pilots are complaining that they cannot sleep in their crew-rest area because the aircraft is too quiet!!!It appears Airbus has exceeded its noise performance.
