Digg (news relevants about Astronomy)

Nice News Site for Amateur Astronomers
"Night Sky Observer" provides a huge amount of news for dudes interested in astronomy. Decent selection of articles too. What I like most is access to video resources, especially The Sky at Night programs from the UK. Seems to be some decent astronomy software available from the site's webmaster for the Moon and Jupiter too.

What was your first, astronomically speaking! Posts Wanted!
Help out an astronomy educator!Mine was, Da-Moon!Now, I curse it =-)Seriously, it was the moon that hooked me, but DSO’s are what I enjoy now!I was out just last night with my 10″ F/5 Dob looking at a couple of really faint Globular Clusters in Del - the moon mucks up the skies too much for good faint fuzzies.

The Atacama Desert -World's Space-Observatory Headquarters
The Atacama Desert's dry climate and 5,600-meter (about 3.5 miles) altitude make it a unique and ideal mecca for both ground-based reflector and far-infrared astronomy. The southern hemisphere skies were opened with the construction of the Carnegie 100-inch DuPont telescope at Las Campanas in 1977.
