Chez Casip - 21 janvier 2000 - Explications:Tou Bichvat, ou Tou Bishvat (ט"ו בשבט), est une fête juive "mineure" (c'est-à-dire à laquelle aucune restriction de travail ne s'applique), l'un des quatre Rochei Hachana ("Nouvel Ans") mentionnés dans la Mishna, sur laquelle se basent les Talmuds. Tou Bichvat est le "Nouvel An des arbres" (Rosh HaShana La'Ilanot ראש השנה לאילנות), correspondant, en terre d'Israël, à la fin de l'hiver et marquant ce qui, en Occident, est considéré comme le printemps, à savoir le renouveau de la nature (la fête juive du printemps n'est toutefois pas Tou Bichvat mais Pessa'h, car l'Exode eut lieu selon la Bible au Mois du Printemps).Le nom Tou Bichvat vient de la date de cette célébration, le 15ème jour de Chevat (שבט, tombe entre janvier et février dans le calendrier grégorien). Chevat (ou Shvat) est le nom de l'un des mois du calendrier juif et ט"ו, lu "Tou," est la transcription de 15 selon le système alphanumérique utilisant l'alphabet hébreu. Les Juifs Haredim appellent d'ailleurs cette fête par son nom "entier", Hamisha 'Assar BeShvat (חמישה-עשר בשבט), "Le Quinze de Chevat".
