She is 5'2" tall, and is an Aquarian.Amrita Singh was born into a distinguished Punjabi Sikh family which hailed from the village of Hadali in present-day Pakistan. Her father Shivinder Singh served in the army; her mother, Rukhsana Sultana, a renowned socialite of Muslim birth, is perhaps best known for her political activism during the Emergency Era. Amrita's paternal great-grandfather, Sir Sobha Singh, was a noted civil contractor who not only made a substantial fortune during the building of New Delhi in the early decades of the 20th century, but also received a knighthood for his efforts. His younger son, and Amrita's paternal grand-uncle, is the renowned littérateur Khushwant Singh.In 1991, Amrita gave up acting in order to build a family with actor Saif Ali Khan, who is twelve years her junior. The couple had two children: a daughter named Sara and a son named Ibrahim. Saif languished at the fringes of Bollywood as a perennial aspirant for over a decade. He finally delivered a succession of hit films in the period 2001-04. The couple were separated in 2004 and Amrita now lives with her two young children.Amrita made her Bollywood debut in 1983 with Betaab, a vastly successful film in which she paired with the debutant Sunny Deol. This was quickly followed by a succession of hits, such as Sunny in (1984); Mard which was the biggest hit of that year, and Saaheb in (1985); Chameli Ki Shaadi and Naam in (1986); Khudgarz in (1987), and so on. Amrita made a successful pair in several films not only with Sunny Deol, her co-debutant, but also with Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, two leading actors of the 1980s. As well as playing leading roles, she also played supporting negative roles in films such as Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992) and Aaina (1993). She also won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for the latter. These successes did not dissuade her from her resolve to retire into family life, and Amrita quit acting after 1993. She returned to acting in 2002 with the film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed where she played the mother of Bhagat Singh (played by Bobby Deol). She then appeared on the STAR Plus television serial, Kavyanjali in 2005. Later that year she won acclaim for her performance in yet another negative role for the film Kalyug.In 2007, Amrita played the role of the gangster Maya Dolas's mother, Ratnaprabha Dolas, in the Sanjay Gupta film Shootout at Lokhandwala, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Vivek Oberoi played the role of Maya. Her last release was the anthology film Dus Kahaniyaan where she appeared in the short story .

Kumour brothers founded ?Bin Jakhani?, ?Chassar?, ?Kumour? villages and started celebrating the ?Indra Jal? festival of Nepal every year in the month of Bhadrapad on "goura mahesh" departure day Hill Jatra .Even today religious Anushathan is celebrated with all equipment worshipping material and masks obtained from "Indra Jala Fastival" in Nepal tradition with "Srave Bhavantu Sukhina Srave Santu Niramaya" theme with traditional and fervor in Pithoragrah.The main character of Hill Jatra is "Lakhia Bhoot" which is originated from the Jata of angry Lord Shiva after the "Bhashama" of "Gauri" in the YashKund of her father Prajapati. So Lakhia Bhoot is also called "Lateshwer". Lakhia is worshiped as "Bhumiya" god is Kumour village. so to keep him elated villagers has a provision of sacrifice at the end of festival

The coming Friday will see action versus comedy as Apoorva Lakhia's Vivek, Zayed and Shreya Saran starrer MISSION ISTAANBUL takes on Ganesh Acharya's MONEY HAI TOH HONEY HAI, featuring Govinda, Manoj Bajpai and Hansika Motwani. While action does impress in certain areas, Govinda in a well made comedy is still a safer bet!
