[I smiled, grabbed the guitar from big rob that I had grabbed on my way out of the room, and went through security. Once I got out I started running, then I realized I didn't know what gate she was at. My phone buzzed and Ashley had sent me a text.]A: gate b-37. I know. Im amazing...now go![I started running again until I saw the sign for B-37. I put my guitar on and looked around until I saw her twenty feet in front of me reading a magazine.][Madison][just my luck. My flight was delayed, but luckily only for a few minutes. I pulled out another magazine and as I was reading an article I heard a couple of 'OMJ's' and 'Mom, hes from the jonas brothers.' I thought I was going crazy so I just ignored it. Then I started hearing guitar. Then I heard singing. Singing that I would have recognized anywhere. I sat down the magazine, and looked around until my eyes found who I was looking for standing 20 feet in front of me, playing the guitar I had gotten him. I love you Valerie.[he turned around and started to walk away. He only got a couple feet when I ran up to him. I grabbed his hand, and he turned around, facing me. I kissed him and everyone around us, who had been watching everything, started clapping but I didn't hear them, I was in my own little world. I pulled away and looked into his eyes.]M: I love you too[he smiled and pulled me into a huge hug and we stayed like that for a few minutes. He let go and pulled something out of his pocket. He held it out and I nodded. He slipped the ring back on my finer and the locket over my neck. I pulled him back into a hug and then realized where we were standing.]M: you know that I still have to go right?N: I know. But I needed you to know that I love youM: I love you too nickN: and when you come back, I'll be waiting for you, right here.M: you promise?N: I promise'Flight 371A now boarding'M: I have to go nowN: bye ValerieM: goodbye nick[I hugged and kissed him one last time, and grabbed my bag. I gave the attendant my ticket, she scanned it, and started walking down the hall. Before I turned the corner I looked back at nick. He had one hand in his pocket and used the other to wave. I waved back and then turned the corner and boarded my plane. [2 weeks later; no ones pov][nick hasn't come out of his room much. Only when they had publicity stuff to do, interviews and such. He spends his days sitting on his bed looking at the picture Madison drew of him, the letter, the necklace, and the ring she left. Madison doesn't do much either. She's sad all the time and her dad has no idea what to do. Tomorrow is nicks birthday and no one can convince him to come out of his room to celebrate he just keeps thinking about how he overreacted and made a big mistake. This will be the first time I've missed your birthday in like 12 years but under the circumstances, I guess it's what you want. Hope you like it.[after nick read the message he closed his phone and sat awake most of the night. After Madison sent the message she climbed out of her window and sat on the roof watching the stars, and then the sunrise, wishing she could go back in time. That morning, nick awoke to his family and Ashley singing 'happy birthday.' His mom handed him a plate of breakfast and everyone but Ashley walked out.]A: uhm. Theres something for you downstairs. Its from Madison. She ordered it a while ago but wanted me to make sure you got it.[nick didn't say a word. He just went to eating his breakfast until Ashley walked out. When he finished, he went downstairs ad saw a guitar case with a bow on it. He opened it to see an electric blue guitar that he had shown her months before. A man was charged with the July 30 homicide of Valerie Ann Burns, a Leland woman found dead in the trunk of her burning car. Carl Henry Alston, 35, was charged with murder and is being held at the Brunswick County Jail under no bond. Burns’ body was found July 30 in the trunk of her 1995 Buick Regal off of Goodland Road in the Snowfield Community.
