So this video is going to list several points on why I'm pro-choice:1) If you take a look at the following timeline on your screen, you will notice that there's no real resemblance of a human baby until the start of the third trimester, which is 28 weeks into the pregnancy. At this point, labor can begin at any time, although there's a serious risk if the baby is born before 32 weeks into the pregnancy. So according to pro-lifers, a woman having an abortion during the second trimester of her pregnancy, when the baby is not all that developed is equivalent to murdering a fully formed, live and independent person. Are you serious? Do they realize how dependent the baby is in the mother's womb? And yet they want to restrict the mother's right of choosing whether or not she wants to mother this potential child? This is probably my biggest point for being against pro-lifers. It just doesn't make any sense.2) I don't know if they're aware of child abuse or unwanted babies being thrown into dumpsters, but it does happen, and they'd much rather have this child suffer and have serious psychological effects later on in life, than to give the mother a choice.3) We already have a serious overpopulation problem, and the world's population is still growing. I think until we get this whole space colonization thing down, we should start putting some limits on how many babies one can have. This is a point that seemingly never gets brought up in an abortion debate, and I'm not sure why.4) Pro-lifers love to play the "what if?" scenario. They love to ask "well what if this child is the next Einstein?" Yeah, well what if this child turns into the biggest sociopath the world has ever seen? You see they love to point out the positive what ifs, but fail to point out the negative what ifs. Besides, the what if scenario is meaningless, and is endless. We could throw out all sorts of possibilites. Like what if the child turns out to be an apathetic crackhead? Bet you didn't think of that one pro-lifers.5) Pro-lifers love to play roleplay and make you the developing baby in the fetus and ask "what if that were you? Surely you wouldn't want to be aborted!" What they fail to realize is that I don't have thoughts of my own at that stage of development so how could I possibly be fully aware of the situation and my surroundings? Secondly, I am extremely dependent on the mother's fetus. Thirdly, even if I were fully aware of the situation and the implications at that point of development, I think I would have enough sense to put my mother's potential health ahead of my potential birth. This is a nice appeal to emotion by the pro-lifers, but it falls apart completely once you analyze it. Nice try though.6) They love to bring up the question of "when does life begin?" Now obviously, this isn't scientific, but I think a reasonable person would say when the child comes out of the mother's womb. At that point, the baby is independent, and fully formed. Until then, there's too much dependency on the mother's womb for us to say that their life begins inside the womb. To use an analogy, you wouldn't say a half constructed skyscraper is fully operational. So those are my main points against pro-lifers. If you're a pro-lifer, feel free to discuss the points and maybe provide something with merit. Until then, think of the mothers and think of the actual children already suffering in this world.Sources:Timeline of Human Pregnancy: http://www.visembryo.com/baby/pregnancy2.html
