But when manager Brian Epstein declined the band's invitation to a luncheon with Imelda Marcos, it was broadcast as a snub by the fabled shoe obsessive. The Beatles' police protection disappeared, the band was hounded out of the country, and roughed up along the way.

Five very successful shows followed: Mystère, O, Zumanity: The Sensual side of Cirque Du Soleil, Ka, and Love (about the Beatles). Cirque also has a show with the magician Criss Angel opening at the Luxor in 2008. Mystère is classic Cirque Du Soleil.
