Ryan goes to a revival house to see "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve. He's the only person in the theater, and then someone comes in and sits in the row behind him, one seat over, and starts crunching on nachos. When Ryan turns to see who it is, he and Brett see each other and realize they're the only two people in the theater. They ignore each other and watch the movie. They're both choked up at its ending. When Brett gets up to leave, Ryan, taking in her Hawaiian shirt, tells her that "Blue Hawaii" played last week. Brett asks Ryan what he's doing there. He tells her he's watching an old flick, then asks if he missed a luau or something. Brett tells him it's her strategy for fighting the cold. Ryan suggests maybe Brett move down south. Brett says she couldn't because there aren't enough revival houses like this one. When Ryan notices her earrings in the shape of bells, Brett tells him she's helping some angels get their wings. Ryan asks if Brett likes old flicks too. Brett replies that she likes them almost as much as she likes old buildings. She thinks it's Heaven watching the classics up on the big screen, no phones, no interruptions. Ryan asks if Brett likes VCRs, and she says they lack charm. Ryan says he couldn't agree with her more, and Brett is stunned that he agrees with her. Ryan tells her to give them about five minutes and he's sure they can find something they disagree on. Speaking of that, Brett wants to know when Ryan is going to look at her ideas for Bayview Court. Ryan says not tonight. Brett agrees, saying she's out of Coconut Clangers. Ryan says he's not even going to ask, but he has a new policy. Brett asks what it is, pay radiators? Ryan says no--his new policy is not working on his birthday. Brett is surprised to learn that it's Ryan's birthday. Ryan asks if Brett wants to see his driver's license. As they leave the theater, Brett says it must be a bummer having a Christmas Eve birthday because you get gypped on the presents year after year. Ryan sarcastically thanks Brett, saying he feels so much better now. Brett asks Ryan what he's doing next. Ryan replies that he thought he'd grab a milkshake and maybe a midnight Mass, a real birthday bonanza. Brett is heading to the Lookout Diner for some coconut cream pie. Ryan tells her that's a big mistake, because The Star has much better pie. Brett tells Ryan that as usual, he's dead wrong. Ryan asks if she wants to prove that, and Brett says one trip to The Lookout will prove it. She tells him that if he admits he's wrong, she will buy his birthday cake. Ryan asks why Brett doesn't just go the The Star with him. Brett replies because it was her idea and asks Ryan if he's coming. As they leave the theater building, Ryan says The Star is a lot closer. Dean, Jenna, Lorna, Kevin, and Brett have dinner together--spaghetti, salad, and Brett's Coconut Clangers. Just as they're finishing up, Dean's band arrive to join Dean, Jenna, Lorna and Kevin for caroling. Lorna asks if they're going to carol with all of this, since the band brought their instruments. Dean says it's the best way. Lorna tells Kevin she doesn't think this is exactly what he had in mind. Kevin says no, it's better. Jenna tells Dean that Lorna has no idea what he's about to ask of her. Dean tells Jenna he knows, but let him handle it; he'll do the right thing. Jenna invites Brett along again, but Brett declines once more, tells the others to have fun, and leaves for her own plans. Lorna asks where they're going as their first stop, and Jenna suggests Felicia's. Lorna says Felicia doesn't need them howling outside her house. Jenna says they're not going to be howling. Lorna reminds Jenna that Felicia made it really clear that she didn't want to be reminded of Christmas, and Lorna thinks they should respect that. Jenna says maybe Felicia changed her mind. Lorna says that not everybody gets warm and fuzzy because it's Christmas time. Dean stops the bickering sisters by saying that there are a million houses out there, he's got one in mind, they're going to love it, and after assuring Jenna he has the keys, the group heads out to go caroling. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Dean and Jenna finish decorating their Christmas tree and Dean says that Lorna and Kevin are gonna be coming over soon and asks if she wants him to wash the lettuce or start the pasta. Jenna says no. Dean tells Jenna that he needs somebody out there campaigning for him, because he needs to do press and gigs and he's been getting nowhere without representation. Jenna tells Dean that if he and Lorna work together again, it has to be on equal footing. Dean replies that he knows this. Jenna wonders how Dean's going to get that with Lorna. Dean thinks that Lorna has changed a little bit--Kevin has mellowed her, and she's going caroling with them. Meanwhile, Kevin and Lorna arrive, but Lorna hangs back outside, saying she can't believe she's allowing Kevin to talk her into this. She tells him that her voice is like nails on a blackboard and she'll send people screaming into their homes. Kevin tells her they'll take their chances. Lorna complains that it's so cold out; Kevin counters that it's the perfect night for caroling because there is snow on the ground and there are stars in the sky. Lorna's hands are like popcicles and her nose is running; how magical. Kevin tells Lorna to be good, and he'll warm her up in her favorite way when they get home. Lorna tells him that's blackmail. Kevin says there's more and kisses her. Jenna opens the door and greets them with a merry Christmas. Kevin returns the greeting. Dean tells them to come on in and wishes them a merry Christmas. Kevin hears reggae music and asks what that is. Jenna tells him it's Brett--remember, the girl who lives upstairs, the one who fixed the furnace? Lorna and Kevin both remember her. Brett enters Dean and Jenna's then with a pitcher in one hand and a big boom box on her other shoulder and asks everyone, "How about some Coconut Clangers?" Kevin, taking in Brett's festive attire, asks if this is what the drink does for you. When Brett says yes, it does, and it does more than that, Lorna suggests they start pouring. Brett goes to Dean and Jenna's hoping to borrow a coconut for this holiday punch she makes, which is a family tradition. Jenna asks if Brett grew up on a beach or something and Brett says no, but her family did go to the islands for Christmas and Hanukkah every year because her father's Jewish and her mother's Catholic, so it was kind of a way of avoiding making a choice, but snorkeling is definitely a great substitute for Christmas shopping. Dean asks Brett why she's not in the islands this year, and Brett replies that she's broke. Dean tells her he hears that. Anyway, Brett was just starting to make her Caribbean Coconut Clangers, and it's a bust without coconut milk. Dean remembers some weird gourmet basket that Felicia sent him and Jenna and goes rummaging in the kitchen, where he comes up with a can of cream of coconut. Brett is thrilled and offers to replace it for Dean and Jenna in the morning, but they tell her it's okay. Brett says they have to try her punch when it's finished, then removes a necklace from around her neck and drapes it on Dean and Jenna's Christmas tree, saying it'll look a lot better on their tree. Dean and Jenna invite Brett to join them when they go caroling later, but she has plans so she passes, but wishes them "Happy Merry" before leaving. After Brett's gone, Jenna asks Dean if he's decided what he wants to do about his manager. Dean replies that he thinks Lorna is definitely the best choice. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

I am far from a Andruw Jones fan, but there has been recent rumors going around that the Yankees could go after him. There has been a lot of complaints by Yankee fans about having Melky Cabrera or Brett Gardner starting in center field. I have no problem with it, and I wouldn’t mind seeing the two compete for the job in Spring Training. The Dodge

The Yankees should definitely look to go after Dunn and Baldelli . A lot of people are upset about having Brett Gardner as the Yankees starting center fielder next year. I can’t argue with that. He has no power, he hasn’t shown that he can hit for a decent average in the majors, and he strikes out a lot.

He does not consider center field a priority. With Brett Gardner, Johnny Damon and Melky Cabrera around and Austin Jackson on the way, the Yankees are deep there.

Brett Gardner is setting his goals high this off-season. He is looking to earn the starting center field job for the New York Yankees. This position has been filled with legends over the years. Some of them include Mickey Mantle, Joe Dimaggio, Rickey Henderson, & Bobby Murcer. Does Gardner fit with those guys?

I’ll be the first to admit that Kennedy’s time since getting the call up to the majors has been dreadful. To trade Kennedy for Willy Taveras is a horrible idea. His numbers pretty much mirror Melky’s..except in the stolen bases department. Why do this though? They need stolen bases that badly? They have Brett Gardner who can do that, and he could
