The Yatta! video contains an amusing high energy 'boy-band' song from Japan. Initially, it seems like some ridiculous creation from the Japanese Comedy Team, 'Happa Tai'. After some reflection, there does appear to be a little more to this clever music video.With inspiration from the Village People's YMCA song, bibilical reference to only wearing a fig leaf, and visual representations comparable to Japanese comic heroes (e.g. Power Rangers), the viewer can appreciate this very clever and humorous inspirational video.With the Japanese economy suffering a long recession, the morale of the country has been quite low to say the least. This video presents a message to the viewer, 'Yatta!' or "We Did It" in a light-hearted manner that helps one to put things into perspective. Even though there are some critical challenges facing individuals and the country of Japan, the message of the video is to appreciate the basic good things in life such as appreciating clean water, enjoying the warmth of sunshine, being alive, and enjoying time together.
