My Tribute to "At the Movies" with Siskel & Ebert & Roeper & Guests (Part 2 of 2)

Part 2 of my special musical tribute to "At the Movies" featuring Gene Siskel (1986-1999), Roger Ebert (1986-2006), Richard Roeper (2000-2008) and guest critics (1999-2000; 2006-2008).These are among my favorite movies that I have enjoyed watching over and over again. Some of them, like Diane Keaton's "Hanging Up", were box office failures, while others were big box office hits, such as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (1990), "The Flintstones" (1994) and "The First Wives Club", despite all three of the latter aforementioned films falling in victim to the dreaded "two thumbs down" verdict in their reviews. This season, as you may already know, Disney has changed the format of the long running movie review show famously known as "Siskel & Ebert", and later known as "Ebert & Roeper". The Atomic Bitchwax- Smokescreen

The Atomic Bitchwax are a rock band formed in a basement during the mid 90s by then 23 year olds Chris Kosnik and Ed Mundell from Long Branch, New Jersey.The bands first two albums, I and II, had a heavy psychedelic sound with roughly half of their songs containing only minimal vocals and the rest were instrumental. As the bands sound has progressed over the last 10+ years ,a more traditional song writing approach was slowly realized by incorporating the bands signature "boxriff technique" with the Kosnik/Ryan dual vocal harmonies throughout their last three releases."TAB3, Boxriff and TAB4". The band also continues to tour live in North America and Europe for the last decade covering 15 countries.In 2003 Finn Ryan of Atlantic Records Core replaced Mundell on guitar and in 2007 welcomed Bob Pantella (currently of Monster Magnet on drums following the "Boxriff" tour in late 2006. Kosnik and the current line up have completed recording the next full-length titled "The Atomic Bitchwax 4" in Feb 2008 at "Trax East Studios" in South River N.J. for the summer 2008 release on MeteorCity Records. A digital download of "4" is available at the bands website.

Prosecutors dropped charges on Friday morning, as expected, against the bicyclist who was shoved off his bike in July by a police officer in Times Square. The confrontation between the cyclist, Christopher Long, and a New York City police officer, Patrick Pogan, was captured on amateur video and circulated widely over the Internet. Mr. Long, 29, had been charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on July 25 after Officer Pogan wrote in his report that Mr. Long had been weaving in and out of traffic and that he had deliberately hit the officer with his bicycle.But video recorded by an onlooker soon surfaced on YouTube, showing Officer Pogan lowering his shoulder and shoving Mr. Long off his bike on Seventh Avenue at 46th Street as Mr. Long tried to steer out of the way. (Officer Pogan was stripped of his badge and gun and placed on desk duty pending the completion of an investigation into his conduct.)
