The Marvelous Miss Kaye Stevens appears on the 1965 Frank Sinatra Spectacular from St. Louis. This one night only special event was produced and organized by Frank Sinatra to benefit Dismas House in St. Louis - a halfway house for ex-convicts. The performance was in the Kiel Opera House in St. Louis on Father's Day 1965. The show was also sent live via close circuit TV to theatres in several major cities where patrons paid to watch the show on giant TV screens. This was probably one of the first, if not the very first Pay For View event. Fellow Rat Packers Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. joined Sinatra on the show. A very young Johnny Carson (just 3 years into the Tonight Show) stepped in for an ailing Joey Bishop to serve as MC. The full evening show also featured The Count Basie Orchestra, Trini Lopez,The Step Brothers and Miss Stevens. Only the Rat Pack's portion of the evening has ever been seen since that night in St. Louis. TV Land broadcast the Rat Pack's part of the show and it was released commercially a few years back as part of a Rat Pack CD/DVD box set. This footage is from a rare video tape of the entire show. This tape was obviously used for editing, hence the time code/clock at the bottom of the screen. Here Miss Stevens closes out her set with a bang, with tunes from "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" -- "I Ain't Down Yet" and "Brass Bed". Enjoy.. and LOOK for PART 4 -- Miss Stevens, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis,Jr. break into Sinatra's "You Make Me Feel So Young" and the Rat Pack, Carson and Stevens take their bows!
