This is a video (1 f 4) of a documentary by Eddy Moretti about Palestinian Refugee Camp, Bourj al Barajenah. Interesting Note that many of the families here still hold keys and deeds to their property in Palestine. A NOTE FROM VBS CORRESPONDENT EDDY MORETTI ON THE BOURJ AL-BARAJNEH REFUGEE CAMPBourj al-Barajneh is this very old refugee camp in Southern Beirut. It's close to a Hezbollah neighborhood, but it's mostly dominated by PLO. They're all the sons and daughters of people who were kicked out of Israel in the 40s and 50s. It's just really dismal there. It's 15 minutes away from the Beirut Four Seasons or whatever, and yet they don't have permanent electricity or running water. All they've got are these jerry-rigged sort of circuits and tanks of salt water on their roof. That was the most interesting story Ahmed told me when we were with him—he said, "For 25 years, every time I take a shower I feel this sticky film of salt on my skin." When he came to visit us in the hotel he took a shower and it was like he was in the lap of luxury. Just fresh water versus salt water that's been sitting in a tank on your roof. You can't shower in salt water—it's disgusting. You never feel clean, you're always sticky. Just imagine what it feels like to be continuously sticky for 25 years—you'd be pissed.

About 140 people (including state & local officials) show up for a forum that cost taxpayers over $7000 just to fly in staff. The Gov's office claimed 400 people showed up. As you can see, it was a dismal turnout for a Governor with very poor ratings.

What does your financial future look like? For many it does not look too good (maybe it looks like living off a tiny pension when you retire). I want to show you today a few ways you can begin to take control over your dismal financial future today and turn it into something that will make you smile :)

It doesn’t really. If he gets Bin Laden in the crosshairs, he’ll shoot to kill — as will Bush, a point Obama concedes. If he gets Al Qaeda’s training camps in the crosshairs, he’ll … pressure Pakistan to move against them, a strategy that’s failed dismally under the GOP but which will work like a charm, I suppose, once infused with Messiah mojo.

I have to admit, the first time I tried talking dirty with my partner, I thought it was a dismal failure. Why? I couldn’t keep a straight face! Even in the heat of passion, when I said something I thought was hot, it would immediately send me off into a fit of giggles.

A very interesting article describing the dismal results of a stress survey done of middle-management in the North Wales Police, and the reaction to it. It might be me, but the symptoms listed look an awful lot like PTSD.

A cautionary note for Microsoft in its continuing quest for Yahoo: history has shown that Silicon Valley companies don't M&A well with outsiders. In fact, the record is dismal. But something has to give. For its part, perhaps Yang and company should consider a third way forward; something a little closer to home. By Michael S. Malone
