http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/06/the-recycled-flags-of-the-dncc/"I sincerely doubt that these flags got sold to Team Obama in Hefty bags. And let's try to parse this story down with some common sense:* Why would a manufacturer provide a refund on open product? They certainly couldn't resell them, especially not after being left like this at Invesco.* 12,000 flags must have cost at least $2,000 or so, and probably more. Once Democrats discovered the "theft", why didn't they report it to the police? It's been more than a week apparently since they were "stolen", and Team Obama just discovered it?* Leaving material in and around dumpsters, especially in Hefty bags, makes it look like trash. That's hardly a way to store American flags, and it's certainly not a way to keep janitors and waste management people from taking them to landfills."http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/06/mccain-camp-to-chastise-dems-for-discarding-american-flags/"McCain supporters said the flags were discovered by a vendor at Denver's Invesco Field after the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention. The vendor supposedly found trash bags full of flags in and near garbage bins, and turned them over to the McCain campaign.Boy Scouts were sorting through 84 bags of flags in Colorado on Saturday, before a McCain supporter had veterans distribute them to the audience."

View of the crowd from the floor of Denver's INVESCO field at the end of Barack Obama's acceptance speech, August 28, 2008. Including searching for the pigeon that got scared out off its perch by the fireworks and found a new perch on the wires.

During the DNCC, I asked Pat Leahy whether he believed the FBI's claim that Bruce Ivins was the one and only anthrax attack culprit. Today, Lichtblau and Shane have an article showing that Pat Leahy isn't the only one who doesn't believe the FBI's tale.

Democrats brought out tens of thousands of American flags to Invesco Field, saluting Barack Obama as he spoke from the Styrofoam columns of the Barackopolis at the conclusion of the Democratic convention. Perhaps some of them took the flags home as souvenirs, but where did the rest go?

Picture of a button I purchased from the DNCC booth at the Democratic National Convention. Blog entry includes a listing of best lines from the convention from the L.A. Times.

Watching television coverage of the convention, with the relentless focus on what the Democrats should do, whether they did it well enough, what they didn't do but should have, and how people would react to it, it often seemed that many journalists don't really have much interest in journalism; they'd rather play armchair campaign manager.

What a shit-hole! Denver sucks but the drugs are plentiful. This is my experience, reporting live from the site of the Democratic conventions.
