Between registered DOOM v1.666 and v1.9, there is only ONE significant change in the ENTIRE IWAD. (Even the demos are the exact same with the only exception of demo versions) Ever since v1.1, E3M9 had a sector that was mistakenly given a sector tag. This tag coincides with the dropping shotgun bridge (more specifically, the line before the second to last sector of the bridge) and causes interesting results.On v1.1 and v1.2, the sectors on the bridge itself did not change texture. (and does not damage you) However, the other tagged sector DID change texture to the sector next to it. On v1.666 and v1.8, the sectors on the bridge did change texture... but the other tagged sector did not change texture.What it did most of the time, though, was crash when you enter it. It coughs up an error saying "P_PlayerInSpecialSector: unknown special (some random number that is generated)". And because the number is random, I wouldn't be surprised if it came up a legit sector special that did damage or glow or something.
