Banner Elk VFD along with several other departments from both Avery and Watauga Counties, fire control class. Mayland Community College has a burn house at the main campus and many hours of practicing fire supression.It was very hot, and a few times the temp in the burn rooms were over 1000 degrees. It was great training.

Kind of a late report. Fished the Erie tribs last week in PA and wow it was on fire. We got lucky and timed our trip just after some rain, color and flow in elk creek were perfect and the fish were fresh and silver. Most of the steelhead were around 25" but the largest was 30", one 24" brown was also landed, beautiful fish.
