Love Will Find A Way Chapter 16The next day everyone was up and about. The guys had all went for a guys day to do lots of guy stuff. Nicole and Ashley decided they should hang out all day to catch up with each other, shop and do other girlie stuff. Madie went her parents and her lil brother Jonah to visit their grandma who lived a couple hours away and to get some of their back to school shopping done early. Abbey was by herself at home getting ready for this dreaded day of hanging out with Katie. She was fixing her hair and make up when she had a flashback of last summer.FLASHBACK: Joe and his younger brothers were over at Abbeys house. Abbeys parents and Joes parents left for a double date kind of day leaving Joe and Abbey to baby-sit the youngsters. Since their parents were gone, Frankie and Jonah thought it would be fun to have a water- balloon fight. After a few minutes of persuading Abbey (Joe was just as bad as the kids, he was like *puppy dog face* please Abbey, please) they finally convinced her to. So they filled up a bunch of water-balloons and divided into two teams. Team One: Joe, Madie, and Jonah. Team Two: Abbey, Nick, and Frankie. After the balloons were all filled, they began their water-balloon war. After a good long 15 minutes or so, the winner was finally declared. Abbeys team had won and they were hardly wet. Joes team on the other hand was completely soaked to the bone.Nick: Joe, you look at little wet (laughs)Joe: Shut up Nick!! Nick: (laughs) Im just saying you look like a drowned rat (laughs again)!!Joe: No I dont!Abbey: (laughs) Yes you do Joe!!!Joe walks away from them all and grabs the water hose and turns it on. He runs over to Nick and sprays him till hes soaked then he turns to Abbey and smiles. Abbey takes of running away from Joe but not long after, Joe catches her and wraps his arms around her tight (hes behind her facing her back) so she cant escape and he sprays her with the hose soaking her to the bone. They laughing and getting even wetter than they were. Joe still has his arms around Abbey waist spraying her when Frankie and Jonah start hitting them with water-balloons that they filled up while all this was going on. Nick and Madie are standing there laughing at all this. While Frankie and Jonah pelting him with balloons distracted Joe, Abbey has managed to get the hose away from Joe and shes now spraying him with the hose as Frankie and Jonah are still throwing water balloons. The boys finally ran out of balloons and Joe grabbed the hose away from Abbey and sprayed her a little bit more then he chases after Nick and Madie who were just standing there laughing the entire time. By the time they were finished with their water war, the yard was nothing but a muddy mess. They had all headed over to get their towels to dry off when Joe found a water balloon that didnt bust, so he decided to throw it Abbey. After he threw it, she began to chase him across the muddy yard. Well Joe being the graceful guy that he is, tripped and fell face first into the mud and Abbey froze right in front of him and burst out in laughter as did everyone else at the site of this. Joe stood up covered from head to toe in mud and grabbed Abbey to hug her but they both lost their balance and fell into the mud on top of each other. As they sat up, Joe grabbed a handful of mud and threw it at Abbey so of course, she threw mud back at him which began a mud war. After doing this for a couple minutes, they both laid back down in the mud from laughing so hard. They finally got up and Nick hosed them off with water. This times, they did dry off and head inside to change and watch a movie and eat popcorn.END OF FLASHBACK:At the remembrance of this memory, a huge smile came across Abbeys face and she began to laugh as she finished putting her make up on. After she was done, she looked at her watch and saw that it was 11:40am. She sighed to herself and headed to her room to put her shoes on and go downstairs. Not long after, the doorbell rang, she opened the door and there stood Katie with a big smile on her face. Katie: Hey Abbey!! Are you ready for this fun filled day?Abbey: As ready as Ill ever be I guess.So they got into Katies car and went for lunch. The ride there was really quiet. After they got to the restaurant and ordered their food, Katie decided to break the silence.Katie: (serious look on her face) So I know you dont like me very much and I dont blame you, I mean I am dating your best friend and Im sure that makes you want to watch me like a hawk to protect him and all. But I want to do want to do whatever I can to make you not hate me.Abbey: I dont hate you Katie, I barely know you.Katie: I just mean, I would be protective of my best friend too if they were dating someone I didnt know anything about.Abbey: All right then, lets get to know each other so I dont have to worry about him (smiles at Katie)
