(Unfortunately, the rest of the world has to suffer the consequences of your political blindness.)Hillary may be biologically a woman but she has internalized the worst qualities of the ruling-class male. Those of you who support her are being had! More than ever before in human history women are in a position to make a better world. Women like Hillary Clinton, "Condi" Rice, and Ann Coulter, in their slavish imitation of ruling-class men, are wasting their chances and ours.HILLARY USES HER CLEAVAGE TO LECTURE US ON FEMINISM (to which we might respond Please Don't Piss On My Leg And Tell Me It's Raining.):Apparently some people complained about Hillary's cleavage on display in the Senate. Most of us, myself included, don't particularly care what Hillary does with her mammaries. But there are plenty of others, many of them good and hardworking people, maybe even (gasp!) women, who do find the exposure, in that context, uncomfortable, distracting, insulting even. So on behalf of the rest of us wimmin-folk, Hillary takes up the cudgel against these anti-cleavage bigots. We are expected to fall in behind her. Perhaps we need to raise a question or two, before we click our heels and salute the Hillary flag. However comfortable Hillary may be with her top open to her navel, would we be offended, would it insult our cultural values, for her to dress with a bit more modesty? Would we miss that pale expanse of flesh? Would we really cry out in protest? On the other hand, this little bra-haha has given Hil' the golden opportunity to act all insulted, to climb on her self-serving, "feminist," high-horse and point the finger down at those Troglodytes who can't handle her hoochy-coochiness; to 'defend' the 'rights' of women!And why didn't someone in that pack of clones surrounding her simply say, pick your issues, Hil'? Why did no one close to her suggest she just shut up and put on some clothes? Did all these sharp political hacks just slip up, or is this their carefully orchestrated move to distract us from her vote to invade Iraq? To distract us from her essential, ruling-class, manliness. Perhaps, as a wise friend suggests, Hillary is playing peek-a-boob to convince us that she really is a woman -- that she's a Hot Sexy Mama, and not just Barry Goldwater in drag! She did, after all, try to ram her profit-based, corporate-controlled, health care plan down our throats. There were no doctors in her planning group, and nary a consumer advocate! Just a salivating pack of insurance industry execs, lobbyists, and hospital CEOs--the well-oiled, profit-taking arm of the healthcare system, invited to the table to protect its financial interests. (Although capitalism didn't begin to commodify health services until the 1970s, Hillary regarded healthcare's presence in the corporate feeding trough as sacrosant--a sine qua non of American free-enterprise.) So what if direct, non-profit, government-sponsored models have functioned effectively in other industrialized countries for decades! So what if she was screwing the people who elected her husband! And her "new" universal healthcare plan? Forcing people to BUY private health insurance!!!! Goldwater would be proud.Does Hillary ever wonder why she's being allowed to do what she does, to shill for the military-industrial complex, to cheerlead for the clean-up mob at Kellogg, Brown & Root? Does it ever occur to her that the power structure will, in the end, always invite stooges like her to try and prod the dying embers of empire back to life, to give to the ruling elite the appearance of humanity? Look who fronted for the tobacco industry in its final Godzilian offensive against a proven link between nicotine and cancer--it was the female "spokesperson," eager to demonstrate her ability to be as nasty, tough, and corporate as the next guy! (Think Condi.) No, the image of Hillary in the Oval Office, with a Democratic majority in Congress, should be sending a seismic shudder down every sentient woman's spine. If there are any sentient women left in America.Hillary may well be right-wing Democrats' answer to Dick Cheney. If so, bully for them! But, to paraphrase Jane Fonda, take away the vagina and the lumpy pastel pantsuits and whaddyagot? Just another greedy, right-wing Republocrat. As for me, I'd settle for any lunch-bucket Democrat, male or female. I'd take Obama in a New York minute!
