Big Brown did what good horses do in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on Sunday - he won on pure heart. It was a performance that looked eerily similar to his Belmont Stakes debacle – except this time he wasn’t pulled up – he was asked – demanded in fact - to win by jockey Kent Desormeaux – and he came through with a desperate victory.

The horse Silver Tree made it just by a neck in the Grade 3 150K Oceanport Stakes. This is one of the seven supporting stakes on the Haskell invitational undercard at Monmouth Park. This was one of the three wins for jockey Kent Desormeaux. The jokey called Silver Tree as his favortite horse and was all praises for it. Everybody loves a winner.
