View it in High Def: http://www.vimeo.com/seboyd2000In tested this camera, I've owned a few of the (newer/low cost) Kodak Easyshare products and my favorite camera to this point is the Z1275. Upon arrival of Z1085-IS from Amazon (my cost $179), I noticed the camera packaging seemed to be a little off and things shook inside the box, even though the box was sealed and undamaged. Normally all products from Amazon have been good for me, including 3rd party products that I've ordered.I un-packaged the camera and loaded the included battery, then did a quick setup on date, picture size, etc. A great thing about this camera is it can use all types of AA batteries, rechargables are probably the best and longest lasting, Next I tried video recording... (this video came out to 49MB in a .mov file format). But I decided to covert it to a .divx file using Dr. Divx and it dropped the size down to 14MB and uploads quicker to VIMEO.com and saves me space on my account here. Dr Divx seem to convert it over and upheld the HD quality... what do you think?Notes: -------I noticed the audio seems to record a little low in volume. Videos always go blurry when using the zoom adjustments.Links:--------Kodak Z1085-IS: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=12448&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=4611Amazon (Kodak Z1085): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00128458MJoin Vimeo: http://www.vimeo.com/contacts/invite_new_userDr Divx 2.0 OSS: http://labs.divx.com/DrDivX

View my HD videos, YouTube needs to update this site to accept HD quality, so go here for better qualities: My Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/seboyd2000I've owned a few of the (newer/low cost) Kodak Easyshare products and my favorite camera to this point is the Z1275. Upon arrival of Z1085-IS from Amazon (my cost $179), I noticed the camera packaging seemed to be a little off and things shook inside the box, even though the box was sealed and undamaged. Normally all products from Amazon have been good for me, including 3rd party products that I've ordered.I un-packaged, loaded the included battery, then did a quick setup on date, picture size, etc. A great thing about this camera is it can use all types of AA batteries, rechargables are probably the best and longest lasting, I've found. (but this camera just never seemed right from the get-go with me..)Next I tried the video recording... indoors (which is this video), and you can see that it seems to have a problem with the auto-focus, especially when using the zoom feature (excuse my shakiness). The HD size (1280) is nice though and the image stabilization seem to be a lot better than the Z1275 version (which doesn't have IMAGE STAB). The movie mode records in .MOV file types, and another thing that I noticed is the movie files seem to be locked to the card (initially) and cannot be deleted unless you install the KODAK software then open files in it and delete the files through the software, or FORMAT the card. This can be a pain in the ass, when you want to just remove the SD card, and pop it in you card reader, then delete the files from the card, which is the fastest way to transfer files... for me. I did try a computer restart, and then I could delete the files.Next I took a few pictures, both indoors and outdoors (10MP), and in camparison to the Z1275 (12MP), they were not as good. So overall I will probably return this camera for a refund, and order the Z1285 (which doesnt have Optical Image Stabilization, but Digital Stab, which isnt as good). I've loaded a few more videos to check out and I will also load then to the VIMEO.com website, so you can see them in true HD, not the YouTube reduced version videos...Links:--------Kodak Z1085-IS: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=12448&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=4611Amazon (Kodak Z1085): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00128458MMy Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/seboyd2000Vimeo: http://www.vimeo.com/contacts/invite_new_user

This video was the last part of that test drive, which resulted in me learning I do NOT want to purchase any Kodak products in my search for a new digi/video camera.©2008 Josh WeisALL RIGHTS RESERVED
