UP ES44AC 5280, SD70M 3947, and SD40-2 'snoot' 3385 switch ballast loads at CP F202, W. Oroville. This is big and unusual power to be switching the small yard here at Oroville. The engineer was actually controlling from the ES44AC and a third member of the crew acted as an extra pair of eyes on the SD40-2, especially because they were using the drill track, a piece of siding that runs along the mainline out of town for about 1,000 feet, then dead ends into a hillside. This power was stored here in the yard before they put together a loaded ballast train, shoved the power on the other end, then headed up the canyon to do some track work around MP 236. W. Oroville is MP 202.1.

Monday-Friday, the Oroville local works the east and west ends of the yard, as well as several local industries. Here we see an ex-SP GP40-2, UP 1510, as a crewman drops down to throw the manual switch off the mainline and onto a spur leading down into a few industries including Roplast, a plastic products manufacturer, and a Sierra Pacific Industries mill.

Eight trains pass through the Readville, MA MBTA Station on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor in August of 2008.1 & 2. A Boston bound Acela Express speeds by shortly after a South Station bound train departs from the elevated track on the Fairmount line.3. A southbound Acela Express4. An MBTA commuter passes southbound through the station and switches to the main track.5. An HHP-8 led Regional heads toward Boston. This clip came out really well thanks to the elevated platform at this point.6. A Boston bound MBTA commuter blows past the station.7. A Boston bound Franklin Line train departs the station and descends toward the NEC mainline.8. A Regional led by two AEM-7's heads north to Boston. This video was started late because there was a girl playing on the tracks. I don't know what she was thinking (of all the tracks to walk on!), but I'm thankful she got out of the way soon enough.

Wlan used to be a problem in Linux but has greatly improved since the drivers are now included in the mainline kernel. Now the time has arrived for Webcams to get this same treatment.
