A circa 1904 AG Mumford No.2 steam pump, built in Colchester UK. These pumps were once common as boiler feedwater units and use a 'banjo' style common linkage from the piston rod to both the pump ram and crankshaft. The pump is seen here running on saturated steam at 100 kpa / 14 p.s.i. A huge fan of all things steam - especially British built steam engines - was Fred Dibnah. UK 'Dibnah' and steam fans can hear stories about the great man from Sheila Dibnah, who travels the country giving unique talks about her life with Fred. Go to Sheila's http://www.fredtalks.co.uk website for details of her upcoming talks and appearances at steam rallies.
