is an upcoming multiplayer co-operative survival horror FPS game by Turtle Rock Studios which is, as of January 10, 2008, part of Valve Corporation. The game has been built using Valve's Source engine and will be available on PC and Xbox 360. Certain Affinity is responsible for the Xbox 360 version of the game. [3] Left 4 Dead puts four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of the Infected. Regular Infected are controlled by the game AI, while human players can control up to four mutated Boss Infected with special abilities. The goal of Left 4 Dead for the Survivors is to help each other make it through a level to safety. Infected players must cooperate to stop them.The expected release date for Left 4 Dead is November 14 2008.[2] The game was first revealed in the Christmas 2006 publication of PC Gamer UK with a six-page article describing a playthrough at Valve's headquarters. A teaser was released with The Orange Box. The game was first playable at the Showdown 2007 LAN in San Jose and at QuakeCon 2007.

Its official Quakecon will be a reality from July 31 to August 3 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Registration for the BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) area will start at 9 p.m. ET on April 30, 2008 at quakecon.org.

Not much is really known about Turtle Rock's FPS, Left 4 Dead. It's a new one from the co-developers of Counter-Strike: Source, for the PC and Xbox 360. It was on display at last year's QuakeCon, and while it was meant to be out by the end of 2007, has been pushed back for a release some time this year. As compensation, have some brand new screens!

News has just come to hand that Turtle Rock Studios, co-developers of Counter-Strike: Source have just been bought out by their publisher, Valve. The Orange County-based team is currently working on survival horror game Left 4 Dead, one of the highlights of last year's QuakeCon, and now one of the most anticipated games of 2008.

Around November of last year i was issued this through email...apparently NBC Universal had one of those bogus torrents out there (axxo's as a matter of fact) and once i got this i pretty much dropped all movie downloading. Needless to say after my first trip to the quakecon this year i've decided to stop buying movies again...

Philips announced today that they have signed an agreement with id software to provide an amBX mod for Quake 4. Now, those with the amBX peripherals can experience custom light, rumble and wind effects to help enhance the experience. An amBX enabled version of Quake 4 was shown off at QuakeCon, where it was received positively.
