Issued in Canada August 1979 on Polydor PD 2003.When Toronto's Pat Travers was twelve years old, he saw Jimi Hendrix perform in Ottawa, and knew right away what he wanted to do with the rest of his life.Later, in his teens, while playing in the group Merge, he was recruited by Ronnie Hawkins, and became lead guitarist in yet another edition of Hawkins' touring band in 1973-74. After a year, he quit Hawkins' group and moved to London, Ontario. There, he made a series of demos that won him a recording contract with Polydor. Pat's first album was released in 1976.Tours of Canada and the US followed, then England. He became so popular there that he took up residence for a time, making a legendary appearance at the Reading Festival. Pat made his second album in England in the summer of 1977, but with punk rock emerging, he felt it at odds with the hard, driving blues rock he was playing, and so he returned to Toronto. Studio albums were issued in 1977 and 1978, then while on tour of the American south in January and February of 1979, selections recorded at four locations were issued on "Pat Travers Band Live: Go For What You Know."This single was taken from that album, in a version edited down from 5:05 to 3:20.
